每個人，都該有段空白的時間，去重新認識自己

在台灣，總是無法好好停下腳步，看看身邊的事物。

因為在緊繃的大環境下，我們無法好好的享受生活，放慢腳步。

為何大家羨慕國外的生活?

不是因為國外真的比較好，

而是在國外的生活，除了離開原本的舒適圈，

去發掘自己以往從不會發現到的自己，

也讓自己從陌生的環境，

找到更大的勇氣，面對逆境的勇氣。

不知道大家是否有聽過【Gap Year】?

Gap Year興起於西方國家 也稱休耕年，

一些青年畢業後 、工作前，或是休學一段時間，

進行長期的海外旅行和遊學。

這樣的意義，

是為了讓他們出國進修學術或非學術相關的課程來充實自己，

例如：學習多種語言、學習專業技術、職場實習等。

不管是學習什麼，

都是為了要增進自己的知識、讓自己成長，

學習如何做出正確的決定、學習獨立自主和學習領導力等。

在國外，這是一件非常平常的事情，

但在國內，知道的卻佔於少數，

因為大環境下的結構，讓年輕學子想做，

卻因為缺乏勇氣跟行動力而停留不前。

很多家長對於這全新的概念無法接受，

認為是浪費錢又沒有保障的事情。

錢的因素相信占大部分，

會因為怕出國花很多錢，

或者怕自己沒有這個能力履行，

但有沒有想過？

有時是自己侷限了自己， 大環境侷限了自己。

想得太多，就會容易放棄，真的很可惜。

沒有出走過，

你永遠不知道外面的世界是怎麼樣，

也不知道自己究竟有多少能耐，

如果年輕時就能出走，

為何還要浪費這樣的時間？

不是出走就會比較好，

而是沒有出走，你怎麼知道自己會變成什麼樣子，

那是一件值得期待的事。

我由衷希望每個人都能離開舒適圈，

去發現那個不一樣的自己，

給自己一個重新認識自己的機會。

Everyone should have a period of time to re-know themselves.

In Taiwan, people could not take time to stop and admire the view.

We could not enjoy our life and slow down the pace as living at a fast pace environment.

Why people are always attracted by the idea of being abroad? Not because it is better.

You can explore and find the difference in yourself when leaving the comfort zone.

You will be stronger and braver to face any difficulties in the whole new surroundings.

Does anybody know the word of “Gap Year?” It was started from the western country.

The teenager will plan long-term of oversea travel when they finish school or temporary absence from school.

In order to improve themselves, they will learn some academic and non-academic courses,

like second languages, professional skills or practical training.

It is very common in foreign countries, but rarely people know in Taiwan.

Many people cannot make a decision as without courage and a strong motivation.

Besides parents cannot accept this new idea; consider it is very insecurity and waste of money.

You have no idea what you have got and never know the miserable things outside if you

never try. If you can do it now, what are you still waiting for?

I deeply hope everyone can give yourself a chance to explore and get in touch with your inner self.
